A therapeutic approach to changing a particular behavior. A discriminative stimulus can prompt the person to engage in a behavior which when identified can lead to the path of facilitating a change. Behavior modification goes through the cycle of identifying the inappropriate behavior, finding the antecedents of what happened before this behavior, the reaction of the person during the situation and the effect on the person after the behavior occurred. At the healing the feelings Centre we focus on identifying the maladaptive behavior which is underlying the stressful behavior that the person might be displaying. Once the therapist and the client collectively identify the cause then an effective strategy to deal with this problem is worked out. The modification of this behavior can happen through methods such as systematic desensitization, neurolinguistic programming, hypnotherapy, movement therapy or cognitive behavior therapy. The collective effort of the client’s desire to change and the therapists understanding of the inner world of the client can lead to behavior modification/stress management and anger control. It all starts with your determination to change an aspect of you which is hindering you from leading a holistic life.
